DISNEY PRINCESS PORTRAITS
This is a series of 18" x 24" paintings, done in acrylic on wood panel.
They depict each of the iconic princesses from the Disney Renaissance.

One of the most important aspects going into this series for me was to tell the story.
For each painting, I asked myself:
"What makes this character this character?"
"If I were this character and commissioning a painting of myself, what would it look like?
What would I be wearing?
Where would I be located?
Two other key aspects to this series were the inclusion of bountiful details, and the feeling of motion wherever possible. For example: the waves, the leaves in the wind, or running water.
I wanted these paintings to feel like they were as authentic as possible.
Speaking of details, the last most crucial element in this series was the ornamental borders to add an extra touch of regality.
Taking quite possibly the most amount of research and planning, these designs were meticulously crafted to further enhance each characters' unique story.
Can you spot all of the symbols and references?
FUN FACT:
To date, each of the legendary voice actresses who breathed life into these characters have seen this artwork.
